Ingredients:
● 3 tablespoons Springs Fireplace Aji Peach Hot Sauce
● 1 cup honey (divided)
● 6 egg yolks
● 1 cup milk
● 2 cups heavy cream
● ⅓ cup buttermilk powder
● 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Base:In a cast iron pot or heavy saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Whisk in ½ cup honey and 2 tablespoons Aji Peach Hot Sauce until well blended.
2. Add the Egg Yolks:Whisk in the egg yolks until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
3. Cook the Custard:Heat over medium-high, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon (about 5–10 minutes). Be careful not to let it boil.
4. Finish the Base:Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla and buttermilk powder until fully dissolved.
5. Cool Completely:Transfer the mixture to a bowl and refrigerate until completely chilled.
6. Make the Spicy Hot Honey Topping:In a small bowl, mix the remaining ½ cup honey with 1 tablespoon Aji Peach Hot Sauce (note: more hot sauce = more spicy ice cream).
7. Churn & Serve:Add the chilled ice cream base to your ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Swirl or drizzle the hot honey topping over the finished ice cream before serving.
